Video-sound installation, Rome 2023
Presented during the "Altre Piazze" festival on a terrace overlooking the Colosseum, the installation ironically references and reverses the title of Francesco Rosi's film "Hands Over the City" (Golden Lion, 1963). Thirty projections of hands, belonging to people of various ages, sway on sheets blown by the wind. Each hand generates a specific note through its movement, creating an ever-evolving musical composition. The project thus transforms the predatory act of real estate speculation into a poetic and collective reappropriation of urban space.
The work was created as part of "Altre Piazze" , an Open House Roma festival that transforms the city's terraces into places of creative production and sociality.
